et de littérature, cet ouvrage est un voyage en terre poétique Nahuatl, une exploration du Chant des Fleurs.
Il est complété par un essai d’Alberto Manguel sur le chant, les fleurs dans
la littérature mondiale. Accessible et exigeant, l’ouvrage est fabriqué sur-mesure avec des fibres naturelles à faible consommation de ressources, issues pour une part du maïs, d’autre part de la viticulture.
En Nahuatl, une langue parlée dans le centre du Mexique depuis le VIIe siècle, la poésie est désignée par un couple de métaphores, Ni Xochitl, Ni Kuikatl, « la fleur, le chant ». Une appellation qui fait du poétique « un instant éphémère de beauté et de vérité symbolisé par la fleur et le chant. C’est une élévation, un jaillissement qui est exprimé. La fleur se dresse vers le ciel et le chant s’envole dans les airs. »
Au cœur de ce continent littéraire encore trop méconnu, la poésie n’est pas cette activité d’écriture à la fois solitaire et tournée vers la beauté ; elle se déploie avant tout grâce au chant, et est intimement liée à la végétation alentour, aux fleurs. Les mots et leurs associations sont à imaginer comme un épanouissement floral, le poème comme un bouquet de mots à chanter vers le ciel.

It is complemented by an essay by Alberto Manguel on song and flowers in world literature. Accessible and demanding, the book is made-to-measure with natural, low-resource-consumption fibers derived from wine-growing.
In Nahuatl, a language spoken in central Mexico since the 7th century, poetry is designated by a pair of metaphors, Ni Xochitl Ni Kuikatl, “flower, song”. This term describes the poetry as “an ephemeral moment of beauty and truth, symbolized
by the flower and the song. It is an elevation, an outpouring that is expressed. The flower reaches for the sky and the song soars into the air.”
At the heart of this still too little-known literary continent, poetry is not that activity of writing. It unfolds above all through song, and is intimately linked to the surrounding vegetation and flowers. Words and their associations are to be imagined as the poem as a bouquet of words to be sung to the sky.
